Arbores Classical Homeschool Community
A Scholé Group
Who we are…
A homeschool community in Newberg, OR, serving families across the Portland-Metro Area.
We are a homeschooling community that employs the content of Classical and Charlotte Mason methods and pursues restfulness in learning embodied by the word scholé. The word scholé (pronounced skoh-LAY) comes from a Greek word that means “restful learning,” with the connotation of “contemplation,” “conversation,” and “reflection.”
Our mission is to pursue deep engagement that results in enjoyable, permanent learning—that is, to bring scholé to our homeschool community.
During the school year, we meet on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a local church in Newberg, OR for our “Campus Days” (i.e., our gatherings).
On our Campus Days, our community of families come together for a morning gathering, individual classes, and a meal. We offer classes to students in 3 different stages of learning:
~Primary (PreK – grade 5) ~Middle School (grades 6-8)~High School
